Privacy Policy

Roost is a private app that helps two partners choose where to live next: you save places, react to them, and let the app weigh both people's wishes into one recommendation. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party trackers.

What we collect

  • Account. Your name and email from Sign in with Apple, and a member color, so your partner can see who did what.
  • Your content. The places you save, plus your notes, reactions, visits, status changes, shared wishlist, and the priorities you write.
  • Push token. A device identifier from Apple so we can notify you when your partner adds a place, reacts, or re-ranks.

Location

If you enable the proximity reminder, Roost uses your location only on your device to tell when you're near a saved place. Your location is not transmitted to our servers and is not collected.

How we use your data

To run the app for you and your partner. To generate the AI ranking and recommendation, the places' details and members' first names and priorities are sent to OpenAI, which processes them as our service provider. We never use your data for advertising, tracking, or profiling, and we never sell it.

Who can see it

Your content is visible to the members of your shared search (you and the partner you invited). We share data only with service providers needed to run Roost: OpenAI (AI processing), Apple (push notifications), and our hosting and database providers (Vercel, Neon). No advertisers, no data brokers.

Your choices

  • Edit or delete your notes, reactions, and saved places in the app.
  • Turn off notifications or location any time in iOS Settings.
  • Delete your account and associated data by emailing us at henry@primechasedata.com.

Data retention & security

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it on request. Data is stored on reputable cloud infrastructure and transmitted over HTTPS.

Children

Roost is not directed to children and is rated 4+.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do.
